Get Started!

Comprehensive Art offers a broad range of projects to introduce basic art concepts.  Drawing, painting, and 3-D production based art projects will be created. In other words…to get your feet wet and make some cool stuff. 

 

    step it UP!

Drawing and Painting 1 introduces emerging artists to more in depth skills in drawing and painting as well as learning more about portfolio development and future careers in the arts.

Prerequisite: comprehensive art   Offered Fall and Spring

Photo 1 teaches basic dark room and camera skills.  Learn how to make your own camera and develop film and images.

Prerequisite: comprehensive art   Offered Fall and Spring

 

Jewelry and Metal Craft Design offers a 3-dimensional twist on art. Artists will create glass, metal, wire, and other unique pieces of art from original designs.  Students will melt, grind and form 3-dimensional materials.

Prerequisite: comprehensive art    Offered Spring Only

Ceramics 1 is for people who like hands on, 3-dimensional building with clay.  Introduction to throwing (making clay spin a big wheel), coil, pinch, slab and many other techniques will be used to make unique pieces of 3-D art.

Take it to the next level!

Drawing and Painting 2 goes beyond D/P 1 with more in depth exploration of drawing and painting concepts and starts to prepare artists for Advanced Placement portfolio development. Prerequisite: comprehensive art, Drawing and Painting 1  Offered as number of students allows.

Photography 2 offers more dark room skills and introduces digital photography.  Photographers take a dive into the possibilities photography can offer for a career and portfolio development. 

Prerequisite: comprehensive art, Photography 1  Offered as Number of students allows 

Ceramics 2 teaches more advanced skills in clay.  Also different types of clay bodies and more advanced wheel skills will be learned.
