Coach Sims-Isom is originally from Huntsville, AL. She grew up in a military family but has spent most of her life in Alabama. She moved to Georgia in 2005 working in a physical therapy clinic for a year before coming to South Cobb High School in 2006 for her first teaching experience.
She attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL obtaining her BS in Sports Injury Management and she has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 10 years. She also holds a Master's in Teaching from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.
