Our First Fundraiser!

Hi guys:

It's time for you to raise the money to pay for all the wonderful things we've got planned for this year. Here are a few reminders to help you along the way:

1. Items that are not paid for in advance will not be ordered.

2. ALL profit that you make goes into your account to be used for whatever you decide (dues, field trips, new york, honor chorus, etc.)

3. Deadline to turn in Order Forms and Money: Tuesday, August 31st!

Feels like we never left at all! Classes are moving along, learning each other and learning our music. We're about to be slammed with lots of (great) opportunities, and will be going non-stop. I will be sending email reminders as well as using the blog to communicate and try to keep everyone on the same page. :)

This weeks important issues:

1. Spivey Hall Honor Choir: Forms are due by Friday,and money for those chosen to participate will be due September 3rd.

2. Choir Dues must be paid by August 31st. Remember, this pays for all your materials, a t-shirt, uniform rental, and at least one field trip. But I must have everyone's participation for it to work. If you are a returning member who already has a t-shirt, your dues are $15.00. If you are a member who has not yet purchased a t-shirt, dues are $25.00. Cash or check payable to SCHS Choir.

3. MOZART: If you are in this group, PLEASE use the link to study your part at home. This is no simple song - it is a major work by an unrivaled composer. This experience will change your life if you let it. We need to be able to work on MUSIC in rehearsals, not notes. :)

LGPE (AKA Festival) Performance

The time is here! Our Large Group Performance Evaluation is Monday!

WHO: 1st Block Choir

WHAT: Festival Performance (like the Gradution Test for music)

WHEN: Monday, March 15th: Leave: 8:00 AM!; Perform: 9:00 AM!

WHERE: Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, Powder Springs, GA 30127

WHY: EVALUATION!

YOU NEED: Your choir robe, and your $5.00 for lunch! (you will not eat if you do not pay)

IMPORTANT!!!!!!  We MUST leave SCHS by 8:00 am in order to make our performance time.

Choral Department

The South Cobb High School Choral Department offers a variety of performing ensembles including an Intermediate Women's Choir, Intermediate Men's Choir, Advanced Women's Choir, Advanced Mixed Choir, and the Musical Theater Production Class.   All groups meet as a class during the school day. An audition is required to join the Advanced Women's or Mixed Choir. No experience is necessary to join the Intermediate Women's or Men's Ensemble. After school opportunities for singing include the Gospel Choir which is a non-auditioned group that meets on Wednesdays and "Electricity", an auditioned show choir that will meet once a week beginning in the Fall of 2009.
